Erling Haaland reached another milestone in his remarkable career this season when he scored his 100th goal in the Premier League. His powerful finish vs Fulham meant that he reached the landmark in record time – 100 goals in only 111 games. Haaland joined an exclusive group with only 35 players in Prem history reaching the milestone. Haaland’s record time was 13 games quicker than the previous holder: the all-time top scorer – Alan Shearer. Unsurprisingly Alan Shearer was the first player to get there, Shearer netted his 100th against Spurs in December 1995. See the full list of fastest scorers below.
Numerous current Premier League stars will have their eyes on joining the 100 club and cementing their place in Premier League history. West Ham’s Callum Wilson (92 goals) is the closest of all active players and has personally admitted that joining the 100 Club is an objective he has set out for himself. Strikers Chris Wood (91 goals) and Danny Welbeck (90 goals) also are withing touching distance and a strong second half of the season could see them hit the total.
Marcus Rashford is currently playing in Spain for Barcelona. However, if he were to return to the Premier League he is on 89 goals, Rashford has time on his side and will surely back himself to get there in the future.
Names slightly further out include Ollie Watkins (78 goals), Gabriel Jesus (76 goals) and Richarlison (71 goals). All three will be relatively confident on making it as long as they continue to play their trade in the league. The two closest midfielders are from rival Manchester clubs, Phil Foden (68 goals) is currently just ahead of United rival Bruno Fernandes (67 goals).
Other Premier League stars who will have their eyes on the career milestone include Jarrod Bowen (61 goals), Bukayo Saka (57 goals), Alexander Isak (56 goals). While there are some younger stars much further away but with plenty of time on their side. Palmer, Rogers, Ekitike, Woltemade, Estevao and Wirtz all could spend the majority of their career in the Premier League.
